Vintage Givenchy perfumes

Hubert de Givenchy, a great friend of his idol Cristobal Balenciaga and after having worked for masters of the caliber of Robert Piguet, Elsa Schiapparelli and Lucien Lelong in 1959 launched the first men's fragrances, “Eau de Vetyver” and “Monsieur de Givenchy”.

Celebrated as one of the most elegant men in the world, it is only natural that the designer decided to present his men's ready-to-wear line "Givenchy Gentleman" in 1959, only a year after the launch of the Prêt-à- porter woman "Givenchy Nouvelle Boutique". Originally, the boutique is located in the courtyard of the Maison at no. 3 Avenue George V, still the company's headquarters.

In line with Hubert de Givenchy's temperament and personal history, the artistic direction is decisive and indisputable: the Givenchy man is above all a gentleman. His style exudes sobriety and aristocratic distinction. His definition of masculine elegance enhances a refined union of classicism and ease. This same elegance and refinement is bottled in perfumes that faithfully reflect Givenchy's ideals.

To complete his vision of masculine elegance and the "Givenchy Gentleman" style, in 1975 the designer launched a perfume of the same name.

Other masterpieces worthy of mention are Xeryus, Givenchy Monsieur, Insense for the male part; Amarige, Le de Givenchy, organza, Givenchy III, Ysatis, Ange ou Demon, l'interditfor the female part.
