Futur was created in 1967 by Maison Robert Piguet in an attempt to relaunch a brand that suffered from the decadence felt also in the unlucky launch of Cravache in 1963 and was then discontinued in 1974. Certainly, the closure of the boutiques by the couturier in 1951 and his subsequent death in 1953. Cravache, a classic male fougère nevertheless survived for a long time while Futur with its soft and dry bottom was probably too modern to be understood by the women of the time.
The period is that of the space age where in the clothes as in the design reigns clean and geometric shapes such as the Ball-chair by Eero Aarnio and the new generation plastic materials. Futur certainly re-read with today's nose it does not hit the mark, giving an aroma that is anything but futuristic. Although it brings elements of its time such as the opening of green and hyacinth notes, in 1967 it still had to sound contemporary albeit classic thanks to small angular details compared to its smooth and shiny surface, & nbsp; so contemporary that it is probably not understood except to the present day, where it could be sold & nbsp; as a niche fragrance for men.
